to raise or not to raise w/ OESD on this flop:
the hand went well however i'd have been better off just calling on the flop and getting the 2 overcalls. however, if they had both called it would have been +EV for me. do you think i'm better off raising or calling? also is the preflop call too loose? i've been trying to limp stuff like JTo, QJo and occasionally T9o due to the urgings of people on here who say i need to loosen up A LOT.
the guy i went to the river with is a tag who probably posts here. preflop is questionable, not terrible, need further replies
cap the flop rest is standard |
Re: to raise or not to raise w/ OESD on this flop:
preflops fine
raising the flop is bad. sb three-betting and making everyone fold is a disaster. and you really want the sb to have the lead when you hit your hand so you can trap everyone |
Re: to raise or not to raise w/ OESD on this flop:
Preflop is meh, I hate limping in 6max. I only do it with 66-22/Axs.
Raise on the flop is fine. It's too bad he hit a set/overpair. Honestly will surprise if he turns over AJ. He either has JJ/QQ. |

Re: to raise or not to raise w/ OESD on this flop:
I am not a fan of the preflop play but that wasn't the question.
Capping the flop depends on the SB. If the SB is likely to check the turn to you then the cap is correct, allowing you to take a free card. If the SB is likely to still lead the turn then the cap is foolish. You cannot cap for value given all the folds. Without a read I prefer to call and not cap. You could possibly save half a small bet by capping the flop but you could also lose an extra small bet. By not capping you almost guarantee the SB leading the turn and you benefit if you hit the turn and can get a raise in. Dopey |

sorry didn't see that everyone folded to sb 3 bet...no reason to cap, now

Sure SB 3-betting everyone out sucks but not enough to not raise the flop.
You have too much equity on that flop to not try and get extra value with the raise. It didn't work how you wanted this time but I'm pretty sure its still correct. Dopey |
