That was a perfect flop. Your opponents are idiots. Get them next time

Re: could I have gotten away from this

Of course you could have gotten away from this, by folding preflop for example. Nice bad beat.

Re: also

The board is paired. Think about just calling or even folding the turn bet.

BTW, even though I knew the villian was going to show trips or better from the title of your post, it's easier to talk about hands if you don't post the results initially.

It's not a bad beat. A bad beat is when you get your money in the middle when you're a strong favorite and the villian sucks out. Here the hero pushed when he was drawing to only 2 outs.

Let's argue the definition of a bad beat, won't we? This had all the spirit of a bad beat post, and by sympathising with him you just encourage him to post more of them. The signal to noise ratio is low enough these days that we certainly don't need more of these worthless posts. And yes, I am aware that I am not a moderator.

Re: could I have gotten away from this

Lets get one thing straight. Im not looking for sympathy and I never said it was a bad beat. I joined this forum a few days ago so I could start getting some feedback on my play. I think this is a very interesting hand and a tough decision for anyone to make. Obviously I made the wrong one and Im simply looking to see what other people think they would have done in this situaton. This is a poker forum if your not supposed to post hands what are you supposed to post about. I thank all those who posted constructive feedback.

Welcome to the forum to both of you. For future reference, I recommend Scuba Chuck's tips on posting hand histories. citanul mentions it in his FAQ.
