How to handle someone leaving in the middle of your one table tourname

How should this be handled?

Someone playing tonight in our tourney is going to be leaving for sure 2 and a half hours into the tournament. They don't care if they don't win.

Should the chips be forfeited, or should they just sit there and slowly blind out? Is there a common rule if this happens?

Blind them out.

Sometimes they get stupid and decide that going all in is the best way to get eliminated.
In one example, the chip leader wanted to leave in an STT. So he decided going all in preflop was the best course of action. He lost the first hand and told everyone what he was trying to do. so he's down to average stacked. Goes all in with jack 8, gets 3 callers who are also holding hands just as bad. He ends up eliminating 2 of them crippling another with a straight and now has over 40% of the chips in play. He continued going all in until he finally "sat out". But I think he still made the money.

Assuming its a friendly game, when he has to leave, let him sell his chips to someone already eliminated.

If this person is like 95% of the population, you won't have to worry about it becasue he will start pushing all-in everyhand when it starts to get close to when he has to leave.
