Absolute ARP Question

Has anyone else had problems with the tabulation of their AR points? I think that I have been shorted by about 25% of my points (not a big deal, but I could use a few new T-shirts for yardwork).

I just signed up with Absolute last month and have only played $2/4 limit there. In order to earn points toward clearing the bonus there, you have to play a raked hand where the rake is greater than $0.25. According to their rake tables, $0.25 is the minimum rake taken on pots of $5 or more. Also, in order to earn an ARP at $2/4 or lower, you have to have a raked hand of $0.25 or higher. Based on this, it would seem that the bonus points and the AR points should be the same (or higher if you play $3/6 and above since they are doubled). My pokertracker stats show my raked hands to be equal to the bonus points, which makes sensee, but my ARP balance is about 25% short of this number.

I have emailed support and they gave me a response that doesnt make sense to me (shocking I know). I have emailed them back but have yet to hear from them. I was curious if anyone else has had this issue.

I noticed a problem a few days back with crediting points properly. Then the problem went away.

they changed ARP points...you still get bonus points the same, but limits 2/4 and below are only getting 1/4 the points toward store purchases and tourneys

Re: Absolute ARP Question

that would make sense since I'm getting about 1/4 the points I used to... where did you find this out?

Re: Absolute ARP Question

Absolute has forums now, and I found a thread that discusses this problem. Here's the link: http://forum.absolutepoker.com/viewt...a3a58fe443af33 From the assistant poker room manager, he doesnt say anything about changing the rate and reiterates the same rates that are causing me to have less points than I think I should. I sent him an email as he requested since I have now sent 3 emails to support@absolutepoker.com with no helpful response. I'll let you know what I hear back.

Re: Absolute ARP Question

They never changed the way you ARP points for playing hands, they have always been fractional points at lower levels.

People often confuse ARP points with raked hands required to release bonus. They should probably adjust their system to eliminate some of the confusion.

Here is what it says on their website regarding the collection of AR Points. I'm not sure that this is that confusing and seems to be exactly what it takes to earn a bonus clearing point.

Absolute Rewards Program (ARP)
The Absolute Rewards Program is a loyalty program whereby depositing players are awarded points for hands played and tournament buy-in fees. Once a player has played 500 (min.) hands they will be mailed their unique AR Card as seen above. The AR Card will allow players to take advantage of special offers by including their AP# which can be found on their AR Card.

Points are awarded to players as follows:

1 Point for every hand played in a REAL money ring game with a limit of $2/$4 or lower that has collected at least the minimum rake ($.25)
2 Points for every hand played in a real money ring game with a limit of $3/$6 or higher that has collected at least the minimum rake ($.25)
4 Points for every dollar in tournament buy-in Fee. Please note that the tournament fee is now collected as a 9% of the total of the prize pool and that AR points will be based on the fee collected rounded up to the closest whole number. For example a $10 tourney will generate $0.90 in fees, and will earn 4 points.

UPDATE!

The issue with ARPs accumulating incorrectly has been resolved. The points are now accumulating correctly. We are going back through the records to credit anyone who was not awarded all their points, but please be patient as I am told it might take until the middle of next week before everyone has their proper points tallied and added to their account.

Who cares about ARP's anyhow? Do people really need a Mark Seif bobble head? Of course I have about 50k of them anyhow. That'd be a lot of bobble heads.
