The Durbin posts and the numerous posts calling our information gathering methods " torture " bring to mind the question...

What methods can we use to gather information?
What do you folks who believe that what we are doing now is torture... are the proper ways for the U S to gather information?

Some of the stuff we know is being used now are...

sleep deprivation

extreme temps

chaining people in a certain positions

loud music

woman showing breasts

dogs barking

Thats off the topof my head I know there are more but the question is

What is a proper technique for us to get info from the terrorits?

What methods can we use to gather information?

The same methods we use to gathar information from prisoners captured in the War on Drugs (which claims far more victims in America than do Terrorists).

Check out the TV show "Law and Order". See how they question the suspects, how they are booked, have access to lawyers, and get tried in courts by zealous, energetic prosecutors.

Thats what they do to scum bag drug dealers, pedophiles, and should do with scum bag terrorists. If you like they can do the trials in VA where there is a death penalty rather than in MD where there is not.

Former LP Presidential candidate Harry Browne said essentially the same thing right after 9/11. The best way to make sure we catch the right people in terrorism is the same as how we ensure we get the right people in any other criminal investigation - adhere to the constitution.

That way we make sure no innocent people get imprisoned.

IMO, terrorism is no different tan any other crime - better 1,000 guilty people go free rather than 1 innocent person be imprisoned.

Agreed 100%.

The police has become softer in interrogations than they were earlier since it was revealed that some innocent people confessed and thus pushing too hard is counter productive.

I am proud of this case, since our judges managed to have some perspective of what is most important:

I disagree. I don't want to risk my children being blown up at a shopping mall because 1000 guilty terrorists were set free.

seriously, though, I assume we're using drugs (truth serums, etc), which i actually think is an acceptable an reasonable means of extracting information- much more so than chaining people in painful positions, sleep deprevation, etc.

I don't think there are any such things as "truth serums," but drugs often can disorient and confuse the opposition.

I think this is all perfectly fine.
