Easier for a noob to learn...NL cash or SNG\'s???

I need help figuring out what direction to go in with a friend who wants to learn how to play poker. I offered him a few books, showed him 2+2, etc. He insists that he learn directly from me. He has a little ADD in him, I think, hehe. He wants to play to make some extra money and is more interested in nut-peddling a bajillion NL tables or maybe pushbotting sit-n-gos than improving his game right now.

What he wants for now is a basic system to get him off the ground. He says he won't get bored with robotic play as long as he's seeing results. I'm equally comfortable with teaching NL or SNG's.

Which one do you think would be easier for a poker noob to learn, set farming/nut-peddling NL25 full ring or pushbotting $11 SNG's? Which one do think they could make the most $$$/hour playing?

SNGs are easier.

SNG will give a person the greatest amount of practice in NL holdem simply because he can just keep playing for $5 a game. He will have to change his play when he tries NL cash, but if he plays 20-30 SNGs before any cash games, he will certainly have a good grasp on the game.

Teach him Ed's short stack strategy for NL cash games. Can't be a simpler poker strategy out there that actually produces reliable replicable results.

I played play money sng's til i won nearly everytime, then moved on to $10 sng's built up a $1000 bankroll off them and then moved on to limit and nl live.

In short. SNGs.

until a short while ago i would have said sngs seeing as thats how i built my roll and pretty much all i played for the past couple years. however looking back, with bonuses, i would say nl cash would add up faster and really shouldnt be all that much more difficult from what i hear about 25nl. i agree with the other guy that said that short stack strategy is pretty hard to mess up. thats like the best of both worlds, pushbotting the cash games.

I've played both and cash games are more profitable....also with sit and goes eventually it will be shorthanded and he will actually have to ....gasp...play poker. also you can bonus whore low limit games. MTTs are more profitable than Sngs too and give more time to play robotic poker.

If he wants to build a bankroll, $0.50/1 and bonuses.
