How do you play if you raise and someone 3 bets?

Should you usually cap in the situation, or are there some hands that you should merely call with.

Sorry, I meant to say "How do you play PREFLOP?" Clearly the question was WAY too general otherwise.

Examples: You probably would definitely would cap with AA and KK, but what about hands like QQ, JJ, TT, 99, AJs, etc? Which would you cap with and which would you call with?

So are you saying if I have AQs, I raise, and someone behind me 3 bets, I should fold for 1 more bet?

No, you definitely do not fold the rest.

You do however proceed with caution.

If you raise and someone 3-bets, you almost always have the odds to call another bet, but it can be a tough decision whether to call or cap.

If the player who 3-bet you is a maniac and no one cold-called, I would cap with all of those. If there were cold-callers, I would cap with the hands that do better multi-way. Against a solid player, I would cap with AA, KK, QQ, and AK (suited or not) unless there were a lot of callers. Then I'd cap with weaker suited aces and JJ, too.

If someone limp-reraises, they are representing aces. That is a different situation, and unless I had seen the player make that play without aces or otherwise play maniacally, I would only cap with KK and AA.

If you raise from early position, you are representing more strength than if you raise from later position. That means the player who 3-bet is representing more strength if you are in early position, so you should be less inclined to cap with JJ and QQ if you raised in early position than late position. If you open-raise in late position with JJ and everyone folds but a 3-bettor, you may be able to cap for value with JJ, AQ, and worse.

When it is blind versus blind, you can cap with much, much weaker hands.

I didn't think so. I just wasn't sure if that is what you meant, or if you were saying what to do if it is 3 bets to you cold.
