I was 3rd at one point then got all-in PF with KK. The other guy showed KK as well and got a flush which decimated my stack. The following 2 hands came up shortly after this horrible beat.

Hand 1, i fold preflop unless the table is very tight, in which case, I would push.

Hand 2 is an easy push facing a CO open raise.

k, let me clarify something about hand 1. A5s is not a hand I would usually raise with. The table was very tight, and I was just hoping to steal the blinds. The guy who called was the loosest guy at the table and seemed to be playing 50% of the hands.

My question about that one is more about PF play. Did I have to make that call, or could I have laid it down in that situation?

Hand 1: Fold preflop, but since you didn't, you have to push on this flop. There are about eighty billion hands that will fold to a push that are ahead of you but will set you all in if you let them.

Hand 2: Yeah, you have to go all in here. Too bad you probably lost to Ax. Oh well, next hand.

These two statements seem to contradict each other a little bit? The rest of the table may be very tight, but if 50% of the time you play a hand you're seeing a flop, your steal attempts won't be very successful...

It looks like it worked out for you this time, but if someone that loose is at your table you have to plan on having to play any hand you put your money in with post-flop.

hand 2 is very easy. JJ is a monster favorite against the range of hands the CO position would open-raise with.

This is even more of a reason not to play the 1st one. A5s in early position is marignal at best of a hand. Since people might put you on tilt, rightly or wrongly you are going to get more calls than you would otherwise.

If I lose a big pot, I want to make sure my next hand is really solid so I can keep my good image.
