Simpler
Same Borgata game but hours earlier. 10 handed. Uberdonk limps UTG (he has two cards and will routinely pay off with any pair/Ace high--his stats would look something like 85/2/0 and his WtSD is over 50), I raise 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG+1. My image is quite good and very tight. Suspicious/passive donk coldcalls on the button. He coldcalls far too much but probably has a sub-30% VPIP. He picked off a player who fired 3-barrels with AK unimproved on a Q high board about an hour beforehand and he peels liberally on the flop. Folds to UTG who calls.
Flop is K72 rainbow. Check, I bet, button calls, UTG calls. Turn is a 6. Check, I bet, button calls, UTG calls. River is a 3. Check, I bet... |
Re: Simpler
I used to not bet this river. Now I bet this river. I'm not sure what this says about the old me and the new me but I like the new me better than I like the old me.

[/ QUOTE ] I played a similar hand the other day and checked the river. In retrospect, I should have bet it b/c it keeps me in a very easy spot with what might easily be the best hand. When I checked, next guy bet, and the super-donk called, I didn't like the spot I was in. |
Re: Simpler
I like it. HU against the button alone, you should probably check-call because your bet will be classically -EV when called and his suspicious nature prevents him from folding 99. But UTG calls enough when button folds to bring you back into +EV and may also make button fold a little more liberally because the pot's protected.
So what am I missing? |
