Birdie,

You've inspired me. Tonight I am gonna take my first shot at 500/1000 blinds NL. Prob sit short w/ like $50k or so, though.

Hand 1: He called and showed AJ...one of the few hands he will show that I beat.

Hand 2: He had KQ and did not hit.

Hand 3: UTG wins with 7s full versus buttons 3s full.

Hand 4: ...he had a king

I think you should take your winnings and go play 50/100. Make sure you buy in short though.

I'm torn between jumping on the ridiculing bandwagon, and being like...damn good job man. You took a gamble, probably had some fun and it worked out. Oh internet message boards, how you tear me apart.

Overall not a bad job. I'm not a fan of hand 1, and hand 2 I'm not sure I'd be playing this hand OOP being so shortstacked, but you did alright. I've been scouting and thinking of playing the 2k on party recently(I play primarily play MTT's and 1/2), and I think you've inspired me.

I learmed more about how to play from this 1 hours session then I have done at the last 10k 0.5-1 dollar hands. I you can afford it then go for it.

Re: My first 10/20 session

I remember when I had a roll of 24k and I decided (unwisely) to jump up to 10/20 and skip 5/10 (which had few tables going). It was one of the dumbest decisions of my life, I felt like I had gone in way over my head. I played too scared and slowly leaked my money away until I pushed pre-flop with 9s into kings. ouch.
