Search function for older posts
 

Anybody able to figure out how to get the search function to go back more than 6 months?

It seems to me I used to be able to do this, but now no matter what search range I set for a specific poster, it shows nothing past the previous 6 months.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Go to Older Archives. From there, go to recent archives. (Just follow the instructions, don't try to make them make sense.) There, you can search in six-month blocks.

nope. i cant even get the search function to accurately find a topic from a week ago cause it stinks!

I tried this and it didn't work.

For example if I search for poster XXXX
and put in dates such as "newer than 18 months"
and "older than 14 months" the search alwyas returns
no matches.

I'm finding this very frustrating! I can't find any posts
older than 6 months.

Whats the trick?

Hmm, the archive search function appears to be down. Either that, or there are no posts in the archive with the word "poker" in them.

I agree! It is a frustrating search engine for ease of use and sensible hits. You have to use the "+" sign in front of any word you actually want to find or it returns nearly every post. I use other infopop forums and they aren't this difficult to search.

Yeah, I ran in to that same problem today. I was searching for the name of that girl several guys had as their avatar a couple of months ago and couldn't find the link. I saved a PM that Soxtrader had a post in NVG and when I searched for that old post I came up empty.
