Board all one suit - Flop decision

The following hand happened in a 8 player home tournament we played last night. The hero was sitting next to me and was very inexperienced relative to the rest of us, thus the leniancy given to him.

Anyway we started with 150 chips and it was level 5 with the blinds at 5-10.
Stacks

villain (SB) 200
Hero (BB) 59 dealt Kc 3h

The hand was folded to the villain who completed a the hero checked
Flop Qc 7c 3c

Villain checked, hero bet 25 and the villain checkraised another 25.

At this point the hero threw his arms up and showed me his hand and asked what he should do. Because he was a beginner no-one was too worried about this.
I wasn't sure what to tell him but I thought he should probably move all-in for his remaining 34 chips given the pot of 95.

Did I give him the right advice do you think

I think he should have gone all in preflop or on the flop. Since he didn't he should go all in now and hope to catch.
