Two Tables

Just wondering if I set up a game of 13 people at two different tables, 6 and 7, should each person start with T10,000 or should each table start with T70,000?

Just go hand for hand until it evens out?

You can't start with different chipstacks, that would be incredibly wrong.

All the time in tournaments there will be an odd number of people. Keep the tables as even as possible until you are down to 10 and then combine.

Why would you give some players more chips than others, unless they earned them?

Everyone should start with the same amount of chips regardless. I wouldn't play hand by hand until there are 11 players. Good Luck

Don't allow the shorter table to play more hands than the fuller table. There are a couple of ways to do it.

A variation that is not strict hand-for-hand, but easy to manage:
Table 1 is 6 handed, table 2 is 7 handed at the start of the tournament. Once a table completes 5 hands, they must hold action until the other table catches up, and so on.

Re: Two Tables

I would probably go to the 5 hand for 5 hand structor after 3 ppl get knocked out since this is going to be a rebuy and add on tourney with the rebuys endeding after 2 hours, total tourney length is expected to be 6-7 hours. I have a hard time fitting 10 around my kitchen table so the final table is 9. I usually don't have more than 9 or 10 which is why I asked the question.

Don't worry about hand for hand with a difference of only one player.

Just play until 10 or even 11 maybe and then combine tables. 11 handed is dumb but could work to keep things full (as opposed to short handed for too long)

I find that you don't have to go hand for hand for the final table if you only pay out a few spots. It's only when the final table pays, but with only 13 players i doubt that 10 players will get payed.
