Hand rankings

Hi, does anyone have a link to a discussion about ways to rank hands?

One thing I'm wondering about is the value of suited aces. I intuitively feel Karlsson/Sklansky overestimate these, for example I'd prefer A80 to A5s (despite the possible A2345 straights) but they rank the latter higher.

I may be off base here, but I believe those hand rankings reflect expectation in a limit game with reasonable players.

I'm not sure there's anything to be gained from debating A8o vs A5 in a no-limit game.

I find that chart useful when considering hand ranges when ITM in a NL SnG, such as "top 25%" and "top 50%," etc.

What do you want the rankings to do?

The KS rankings do exactly what they are meant to, and I can assure you they don't mistakenly "over-rate" anything.

However, I can also assure you that ill-fated (relative) idiots routinely mis-apply these rankings.
