Opening of new room @ Hilton (AC)

Just got back from a weekend @ AC. Had to return by bus after I locked up my car in storage over the winter months.

Walked through the Hilton, up on the 2nd Floor since I've been keeping an eye on how construction was going on.

Since my bus was departing from Hilton I had a quick look at the site which was not where I actually expected it. The floor area is where the store was immediately to left as you come up the escalators.

About 20 tables in the area with about 6 games going on a Sunday evening.
Floorman told me that Friday was the opening.

For me it will be the closest and probably will try over the Xmas/New Year period.

What games were they spreading? I am assuming the room will be the typical 2/4 Limit and 1/2 NL.

1-2 NL is not a guarantee, the Hilton is an old age home among old age homes. Not much foot traffic from the younger set. I would expect 2-4 HE and 1-5 or 1-3 stud to be the mainstay. Bob Sheraton is running the room and he has said they are going to try to feature hi/lo games..so maybe some 1-5 Stud hi/lo and 2-4 O8B at some point. I can't see anything bigger unless it becomes the locals spot.

"the Hilton is an old age home among old age homes."

This is the best and most accurate description of the AC Hilton I've ever seen.

I called the room out of curiousity today to see what they're going to spread. So far the games are;
$2/4, $3/6, $1/2 NL, $1/5 7CS, & $5/10 7CS.

He did say that they're going to have a $5/10 Omaha H/L
later in the week, that it was requested. He also stated that they'll spread "anything" if there's an interest.

I havent been to Atlantic City since the early 90's. Could you tell me where the Hilton is located? I know they have changed ownership of several hotels since I was there.

Sorry for the stupid question.

Thanks.

It is the southmost casino or downbeach if you like. Next to the Trop. I know they are owned by the same company as Resorts, I assume Hilton is the parent company.

It's not run by Hilton at all.

I checked out this room this weekend too. It is a pretty nice room, with about 20 tables in it, and it has a big window and a lot of light gets into the room...which is nice. But the games themselves were bad...no fish to speak of. From what I heard, they have a pretty good comp system for poker players though, so who knows.

Thanks.

That was the Golden Nugget when I first started going there, then it changed to Balley's Grand.

Hope to get down to AC again one of these days.
