Bonus Whoring for a Bankroll
 

I am currently working with someone who is just starting out in the game, and I am trying to bring them up to speed as quickly as possible. He has some experience, but needs a lot of work.

Our goal is to get $1000 as quick as possible, and I am wondering what the best approach is for bonus whoring. He has $600 to throw around, and I was thinking of putting him at full tilt for a 100% bonus. I am not sure if the $/hand is the best deal out there though. I imagine that he will be able to play .5/1 for now, but hopefully move up to 1/2 or 2/4 pretty quickly.

Any suggestions for the best approach?

that will turn $600 into $1000+ no problem playing just 50c/$1 limit.
definitely forget about Full Tilt.

at $1/2 limit your friend can also add the Crypto skins and Absolute.

$600 is enough to hit a ton of easy bonuses. Full Tilt's bonus is not an easy bonus to clear. While waiting to clear a $600 Full Tilt bonus, you will be missing thousands of dollars of other bonuses.

If you can play break-even poker at $1-$2, you can get paid $9/table-hour for 5 table-hours each month at William Hill, TotalBet, and UKBetting, for a total of about $135/month. Bet365 not only has a nice initial bonus, it has been giving out $100 for 500 raked hands at $1-$2 or NL $100 for the past few months.

At $600 you want to look at what bonuses will clear quickly at low limits. Party is great. If you find someone offering a stars deposit bonus that is great because it clears really quickly. Paradise also clears rapidly. Avoid absolute / Eurobet / Full tilt / noble etc. These bonuses are only doable at 2/4 and above. In short, party, paradise and stars will give you $250 + whatever you win. In addition to that, Bet 365 will give you the $150 you need to get to a thousand.

Stars is NOT a good recommendation if the OP says that his friend will start at 50c/$1 limits. even at $1/2, you only need a $10 pot to count on absolute vs. $15 on stars (though 20c bonus vs. 10c can compensate for that). with proper table selection, absolute is not that tight where you would avoid playing $1/2 there altogether.

Not the deposit bonus from stars; some affiliates offers $50 if you sign up under them at stars. This only takes 100 FPP to clear and receive. I am not talking about the 20% bonuses they offer 4 x a year.

If it helps at all, the person playing will only be playing Short Handed Limit games.

I don't see anyone offering more than $20 of comp for signing up at Poker Stars. can you specify?
