bikers

i hate bikers. they want it both ways.. they want to be treated like cars and be on our roads, but then they don't want to follow red lights. a guy on a bike ran a red light today in cambridge and i found myself wanting the guy to be struck dead by a truck or something.. then i thought, how horrible to think that, but come on. obey the rules of the road!

In the Peoples Republic of Cambridge all bikes have the right of way at all times. They are using mother natures power and hence they are a better person than you.

i don't really understand this either .

in lance armstrong's book he talks about being hit numerous times by trying to outrun the crosswalk timer (red light), each time hit putting him in the hospital causing concussions or cuts in need of dozens of stitches yet he says he still try's to beat the timer and run red lights to this day. very confusing.

Re: bikers

And then after the ride around causing accidents they lock up their bikes and carry one wheel around everywhere. Why the hell can't comeone just invent a theft-proof wheel? And why do they put the padding in the pants instead of the seat?

Re: bikers

the dumbest thing i have seen was when i went to school at arizona state. on university they have a bike lane (or when i went there they did, i don't know if they still do) but the bike lane isn't the the far right its actually in between the middle lane and the right lane of traffic and is about 3 feet wide or so. i saw more people on bikes hit by cars when i was out there then i have since. people would switch lanes and not see the biker/cyclist and take them out.

Having the bike lane in between two car lanes has got to be one of the most retarded ideas of all time.

eh, not all bikers are like this, there is just enough of them that give the ones who actually know what they are doing a bad name.

Re: bikers

You would go crazy seeing how many bikes there are at UCSB. I have a friend that has been hit by 3 cars (I think all 3 were his fault though). On the main road out of campus during a time right after class gets out, I've counted up to 50 bikes just riding down the middle of the road.

It's for when they run a red light and some guy in a car knocks them over and repeatedly kicks them in the ass.

Up here when there is an intersection with a right turn lane, the bike lane just goes straight up to the intersection and people turning right have to cross the bike lane to get into the turn lane. I don't know how many cyclist have been run over as a result of that little bit of genius, but I'd bet it's quite a few.

Don't even get me started on bike messengers. Talk about a death wish!!
