AA Laydown in a small pot

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
Hero calls, 7 folds, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (3 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, SB calls, BB calls.

Turn: (3 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB Bets, BB Raises, Hero Folds.

My thought at this point is that there's probably a at least a straight or trips in one of these guys hands, and with only 6BB in the pot its not worth paying 4bb to find out. Was this a good laydown?

I think you made a good laydown there, you missed the raise preflop trying to slowplay, that was bad, good bet on the flop, but facing 2 on the turn, I think someone was slowplaying the J.

The first bet may have been a Q but I think the re-raise was the J, from what I hear 1/2 is tough, sucks to fold the A's big time.

I guess i should have mentioned, I slow played the AA because the table was fairly tight, and two hands earlier when i raised KK the whole table folded. I should know better by now, every time i slow play AA i get nailed.

If the table was that tight (tight postflop, also), I hope you played a style that gives a PFR of about 20-25 from late position (from 2 off the button or closer). Any suited ace and A8+, K9s+, any pocket pair, big cards, and medium suited connectors are probably profitable when coming in for a raise.

I've found it's far more profitable raising more at a tight table rather than raising less.

People are going to beat me over the head, but sometimes at 1/2 I'll smooth call KK and AA UTG. I stress sometimes here though.

Good fold.
