Taking on the chip leader...

Party $50+5 blinds are 50/100

I get dealt AJo. I make it 300 to go from LP with a stack of 4600, Chip Leader calls on the button with 9300, BB calls (stack not important).
Flop JQQ.
Check to me, I bet 700, Chip Leader calls, BB folds.
Turn 6 completes the rainbow.
I check, Chip Leader bets 1000, I call.
River K, I check, Chip Leader checks.

Did I play this scared? Theres a fair way to the money (think there were about 50 left, top 20 paid) and my stack was well above average, Chip Leader had a big lead at this stage.
I strongly considered following through the turn, but although with pretty much no read I had picked up he was involved in a lot of pots through a lot of streets.

Any comments? I'll post the results later.

I thought you played it aggressively. And then you held on for one bet. It's scary board and the chip leader seems a bit like a loose, opportunistic bullying type of chip leader. Seems fine. Your careful play on the turn may have induced a bluff. Out of position your hand is tricky to play. Seems to me that you did a decent job of it.

What's the chip leader been playing like?

Re: Taking on the chip leader...

The chip leader had played a lot of pots since I joined the table, calling a lot of flops, but not showing any hands so I hadn't really got a good read on him.
I seriously thought about going 1500 on the turn, but had no idea what I'd do if he put me all in, and was wondering if I'm really too scared of a 3rd Q.

Anyway the tourney is down to 24 players and he has one huge chip lead lol

I'll post the result of the hand below in white:

That's what I was thinking about he may have had. It's bad luck for you, but I doubt you could have pushed him off the hand...even if the board was paired and you were trying to represent the Q.
