Texas HE in London

I'm in London right now and have noticed that every casino -besides slot machine areas - is members only. Does anybody know where they have casinos open to the public for hold'em and what they are like (rake structure, quality, etc.)

Thanks for any responses.

Duece...

The policy is England is that all clubs are "members only," but that membership is basically unrestricted. The catch is you have to you must apply for membership 24 hours before you can become a member. That means: go to a club, say you want to be a member, they'll have you fill out a form and such, and come back in a day and you can start playing.

It's totally a legal restriction. Places will want you to play. Ask about dress code while you're applying.

My advice would be to play at the Vic (the Grosvenor Victoria near Marylebone... if I remember correctly). They had a bunch of games going when I was there two years ago; all pot limit then, but I think they have a bunch of NL hold'em now too. Probably hard to find a limit game if that's your thing.

Try the Gutshot poker club on Clerkenwell street.
It doesn't have the 24-hour wait restriction... just bring
a driver's license or passport

They spread pot-limit and no-limit HE and Omaha and have
a tournament almost every night... check out gutshot.com

Another difference from what you're used to (assuming you're from the US) is that in England you DON'T tip dealers.
