Defending your Blinds

Absolute 0.50 NL, 9 handed
Villain is SB with ~$70
Hero is BB with ~$100 and 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

7 folds, villain raises to $1.25, Hero reraises to $4

No reads on villain, just that this looks like a blind steal. If it is i think this raise, followed by a bet/raise on any flop if called is +EV with any 2. It's also possible i've been playing too many tournaments lately... thoughts?

my thoughts are that defending your blinds is very different than limit. you're playing a crappy hand out of position and have no real read on opponent. I think if the SB is aggressively raising blinds in position then go ahead but barring a read i'd muck. is it worth it to battle for your blind when it's 1/200 of your stack?

i don't necessarily disagree with you, but i'm not out of position.

Folding to the button should be a rare occurrence at 0.5NL. You may need to move tables more often.
