Hello! Hmm--Roy West VS RayZee--

assuming U have 9 A 9 and one of several oppos has K 5 K.
All ranks are completely live.
Let's also assume a 10/20 1 ante game.

Zee's disciples would attempt to reduce the field to a heads-up situation

West's disciples would play if they believe that at least one other player will enter the pot.

In this situation, are U a disciple of West or Zee?
Reason?

Last time I checked, west writes for low limit players exclusively. Are you talking about a loose 10/20 game? Whats your position? Whats the position of the raiser? Do you have a 2 flush?

more question: if you get it heads up how is the hand likely to be played from then on? Is your opponent passive? Will he 3 bet you on 3rd street? If you raise or bet fourth will you get a free card on fifth? If you make an open pair that doesn't pair your door card will your opponent fold? Are you sure he has kings or could he also have a 3 flush or a 3 straight or (22)K w/ a 2 flush?

Actually, I think you need to work on your reading comprehension. Zee and company would raise to get it headsup in a MID AND HIGH LIMIT game with a higher proportional ante. An example of this would be 15-30 with a 2 dollar ante or 20-40 with a 3 dollar ante. 10-20 with a 1 dollar ante is tightly structured and the proper strategy is more along the lines of trapping (see the chapter in SCSFAP for clarification - I think it's called playing in small limit games).

So perhaps they are both right to an extent.

Hello,Snow! West\'s ideas are applicable to 10/20 games.

After the low card brings it in,the K's raises and ur next with 9 A 9.

This is a hypothical question that occurs..

occasionally.
I'm assuming ur Oppo. will pound away as long as u do not make an open pr.

Hello,Jeff! I tend to agree with u However,if ur oppo...

is playing well,he will punish u all the way unless he sees a dangerous board.
This will cost u dearly a good % of the time.
What u are attemting to do is to become a hand favorite.
Allowing additonal players to come in will make u a money favorite although u will not be the favorite to win the pot most of the time.
Those times that u do win, expect rather hugh pots which will more than offset those times that u do lose.
So in the long run,I think that u will increase ur profits more than going heads-up.
This idea was also formulated by Mike Caro.
