Q9s MP

The table was, in general, loose and weak. I didn't expect
the raise from the sb after I entered.

As a rule I don't play Q9s from anywhere except the button
after a couple limpers. The two behind me were mid-70's
vpip so I assumed they would both follow.

Was the play reasonable? I didn't think mp/gk would hold up,
but I did believe with nine good outs (maybe three more
with the queens), I shouldn't bail.

Why on earth would you call this river bet? I know you are thinking don't fold for one bet in a big pot, but what could he possibly have that you have beaten? I am seeing nothing. You missed your draw, don't pay him off anymore.

preflop raise + bet/cap flop screams "I have an A with a good kicker"

Re: Q9s MP

Preflop: Q9s is ok from MP at a table this apparently loose-passive.

Flop: I don't raise that flop because I don't want to face the field with 2 cold...you got lucky, there. So, call the flop, Button raises, SB 3-bets, then you call, Button caps, all call...that works, nicely.

Turn: fine, you have the pot odds to call.

River: WTF are you thinking calling that river? Three to the flush, plus another broadway on the board, and the flop 3-bettor still to act? I don't think you're good 1 time in 25, here, much less 1 in 14...7, if Button raises.

You're owned on that river, like, always.

I don't like limping Q9s preflop there, but meh.

Fold the river.

But also call the flop, I don't like the raise.
Also: you talk about your nine and queen outs, did you miss your flush outs?

Fold the river.

Call the flop you want to be building the pot in this position and if the button raises behind you and sb 3bets then you can cap.

Turn fine.

While this would be nice, I think the primary reason for not raising the flop is that you really don't want to force the guy out behind you and then get 3bet heads up. But you're right, building a pot would be nice if you can count on the guy behind you to stay. I might raise the flop if MP had called since you know he's already in.

I don't understand why you'd raise this if MP calls.
