After you cap and then check, after check-raising twice, he'd have to be a moron to bet the river. Just keep it simple and lead the river.

There are only 3 combos of 88.

On the turn there are:
8 combos of AJ,
8 of KJ
6 AA
6 KK
6 QQ.

I think we got really lucky on the turn, but the flop play isn't necessarily bad because of the results.
