Party\'s $1000000 Touchdown
Why dont we post daily questions, and maybe answers, for those of us who are not too football savvy? This may allow more of us to take advantage of the free money.

Re: Party\'s $1000000 Touchdown
here you go
Other people arent going to be able to help you tho, as its guessing the outcome of games and stuff. So its a pretty worthless promotion |
Re: Party\'s $1000000 Touchdown
You know what stinks? You need 30 points the day before to get the question. I played 164 raked hands of PLO8 yesterday, to which I should have been credited 32 points, but only received 28 points for some reason.
I emailed support about it. I can't wait to see the reply I get since I included math in my email. |
Re: Party\'s $1000000 Touchdown
Xposted to the other thread:
The chance they have to give out the million is far less then one percent. Assume 10,000 people answer all 40 (probably way high) and that each person's average answer has a 60% chance of being right (remember people arent always going to pick the best answer, and many questions will be 50/50). (1-(.6^40))^10,000 is .99999, so assuming i remembered the formula right and my assumptions are close party only has to pay out the million one out of 100,000. Enjoy! |
Re: Party\'s $1000000 Touchdown
anyone post their question for today?

Re: Party\'s $1000000 Touchdown
It's picking the ATL vs NO winner.

Re: Party\'s $1000000 Touchdown
still very very very wrong 40/40 isnt near 1/100,000 ..
40/40 is basically impossible |
Re: Party\'s $1000000 Touchdown
I was saying if 10,000 people answered all 40 questions. This is probably very high but whether its 1/100,000 or 1/10,000,000, the EV change for them is less then ten dollars.

Re: Party\'s $1000000 Touchdown
Does anyone else think this is Party's way of hinting a possible Party Gaming Sportsbook?

He was trying to compute the odds that someone would get lucky and Party would have to pay the million. Just as the odds of hitting the Lottery is 1 in 50 million (give or take, depending on which Lotto), the odds of somebody hitting it when 10 million play is not 1 in 50 million. B. Ultimately, the question is not answerable. Because we don't know what type of quesions there will be. The first one is far from 50:50. If the are all roughly 70:30 propositions, the odds of 40/40 is one in a million. Not easy, but not impossible. If they are all 50:50 props, then 40/40 is one in a trillion. In that case, ok, impossible. |

[/ QUOTE ] Assuming 50:50 quesitons and 10000 people each week answering all 5 questions: About 300 will get all 5 right, payout of $30,000. About 1500 will get 4 of 5 right, payout of $75,000. Total PP payout: $105,000...each week for 8 weeks, for a total payout of about $850K, even if nobody hits all 40. |
Re: Party\'s $1000000 Touchdown
I played 8 $22 SNGs, which should give me 48 points. I recieved 18 points.

Re: Party\'s $1000000 Touchdown
The chances that party even correctly thought about the odds of having to pay-out the million dollars is significantly higher than the chances of them actually paying it out.

Re: Party\'s $1000000 Touchdown
So much for the complaints about how hard this will be with all -600 options. The EV is now under the electricity you burn clicking the buttons...

Re: Party\'s $1000000 Touchdown
They probably don't make the questions up until they read this board. So yesterday they saw the calculated expected value and decided to make the questions a little tougher. They can manipulate the value of this bonus any time they choose through the difficulty of questions.

Re: Party\'s $1000000 Touchdown
Saints vs Falcons - Team to Score First
12/12/05 Saints +175 21:05 ET Falcons -215 It looks like I'm going with the Falcons |
Re: Party\'s $1000000 Touchdown
This is a stupid promotion. If NO wins or scores first, a large % of players will be out of the running for the big money. They should at least save this crap for the end of the promotion.

Re: Party\'s $1000000 Touchdown
Question #3:
What will be the final score of the Saints/Falcons game? Question #4: How many totals yards of offense will both teams have in the Saints/Falcons game? Question #5: What player will score the first points of the game, how will they be scored, and how many minutes and seconds will have elapsed off of the game clock when the first points are scored? See? They gave you the easy ones first. |
