98s in the Blind. Flop play.

Thought most of the decisions in this hand were discussion-worthy. Just got Eddie's book, (it's very good btw) and am trying my hand at limit again.

Hero ?

Lead out? Check/call? Check/raise? What's my equity here?

Reads: LRR has seemed solid, so I think we can define his hand relatively well.

I'll usually check/fold, but if UTG leads (likely) and CO just calls (somewhat likely), then maybe I'll call along. You probably have around 5 outs here (4ish to two-pair or set, plus 1ish for both backdoors).

Actually, maybe leading is better. Hopefully UTG will raise, and everyone will fold, and we can see the river with 6.5 live outs.

#1 Choose the 2+2 option on the converter so the colors come out correctly
#2 I would check, planning to fold to 2 bets and call 1.

I've heard the term two way check aka Slovak a few times now. What exactly does it mean?
also I think im probably leading this flop.

why would you put in 3 sb preflop and then fold when you flop top pair with two backdoor draws. the CO might have a real hand like 99-AA, but he could easily have AT, KJs, KQo.

I'd bet, hoping UTG raises, and go from there, if it goes bet, raise, 3-bet, then I'd start thinking about folding depending on my reads.

Check/folding here sucks.

Also, do solid players really LRR?

Re: 98s in the Blind. Flop play.

We've got a bunch of equity here...pairs, backdoor draws, etc, and the pot is pretty big. I'm checking and calling up to two bets, and reevaluating on the turn. I'm fairly confident that folding for two sb's would be a mistake here.

EDIT: Of course if it checks to the CO and the CO bets, I'm check-raising.
