I have mentioned before the risk/reward factor in this and there is no way you should attempt to do anything illegal in a casino.

Look at the scenarios:

1. THey stop you right away and throw you out (slight embarassment, a little scary).

2. They stop you right away and call the cops and you get in legal trouble (seriously bad)

3. You begin playing, lose money and then either scenario 1 or 2 (they won't refund your money in case you were wondering)

4. You begin playing, win money, which they then confiscate, and then scenario 1 or 2.

5. You lose money and don't get caught (still sucks)

6. You win money and don't get caught (THE ONLY GOOD scenario and by far the least likely of the above).

Your best bet, find a bunch of other 14-18 year old kids stuck in Vegas and get a home game going in a hotel room with them.

Sure they let you cash out and take their money if you get caught. Because if they take it from you, you'll go straight to the police and tell them that you were doing something illegal and the casino caught you and took your money. Of course, the police would be more inclined to believe you... since you've already told them that you're a criminal. Not to mention the lack of evidence you'd have. It's like taking candy from a baby to them... quite literally.

Look, the casinos are mega-giant corporations... not just buildings. They eat millionaires for breakfast and snack on lawyers, doctors, and successful businessmen all day long. And these are men with power. What do you think they'd do with a no-name 19 year old kid? Don't waste your time or your milk money. Play the scratch-offs at your local 7-11... you have better odds.

Just be confident and try to play. The worst that is going to happen is that you say "oh [censored], I left my ID in my room." They'll usually ask you before you get to sit in the card rooms and in the casnio just take your chips and have a friend cash them.

It's not a heinous act. But I don't think anyone would gamble if they knew they were overwhelming underdogs walking into a situation. As one poster said earlier, there's 1 out of 7 or 8 situations that likely favor the underage player. Then you have to factor in the odds of being a slight underdog to the casino's odds. Not to mention getting caught could land you in jail costing you even more than losing would. Using a fake is even worse. Good security can spot a fake with ease, and they don't just confiscate it... they help prosecute.

The pokerroom is the best place to go if you are going to try and get away with it. But I've seen the older players ask the floor to check someone's id (especially if the kid is winning). No player likes a kid walking into the pokerroom and having the kid take their money illegally.

So, it's a losing proposition. And, if you don't care about the money and want to lose it, then go for it. But, I don't think anyone goes out gambling thinking... "oh, I can't wait to lose this 1K... it's gonna be great!"

Obviously no one wants this, but I don't think it is.

Any casino game is, we can agree on that. (edit: Also, it should be noted that I think casinos are much stricter about carding for these)

However, the card rooms aren't if you have a positive expected winrate. Like I said, the x% of the time you get caught, you will get to keep your money almost all the time.

Say you lose your $500 buyin at 15/30 5% of the 50% of the time you get caught. That has an EV of -$12.50 for trying to sit. Note: I don't think that you will lose your buyin even close to this amount of the time. Probably ~0 of it.

I probably got carded about 25% of the time in vegas at cardrooms and I look about 20-21.

Also, when I was there with several underage people they managed to pokah underage.

You are way off base. There is almost zero chance an underage gambler will get thrown in jail unless he attempts to provide a fake ID or is not polite & respectful to the casino staff.
