Check The Turn?

My first post so hopefully I have included all relevant info..

1/2 No Limit

At table for an hour. Pretty solid table with not too many loose players.
Hero in late position with k-q suited. One early player limps..hero raises to $10. Small Blind calls. Limper calls.

Flop Ks 8h 3h

Small blind leads into pot with $25 bet.
early limper folds
hero raises to $100 with top pair and king high flush draw.
Small blind thinks for 2 minutes then calls.
Turn 2d
Small Blind checks hero bets $100. Small blind thinks for 3 minutes goes all in for $160. Hero calls.

Should i have taken the free card on the turn even though i had top pair or was i right to push?

showdown to follow on next post...Thank you.

Re: Check The Turn?

I would just call the flop. If this pot gets huge you have to improve (and probably improve big) to win.

Re: Check The Turn?

I think the check behind on the turn is always an option but if you miss your draw you're going to have a tough river decision when the button pushes 160 into 225 pot. The 100 bet on the turn pot commits you, so why not push? It gives you more folding equity and is essentially the same bet.
