Need help building new quad monitor rig

I want a setup like one of these http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...quadtable1.jpg
http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/warcrow...w-monitors.jpg [copy and paste it]

What video cards/monitor's should I go with?
Is hyperthreading important for running so many applications at once?
Can I get a good agp video card to game with or do I have to use a certain card to be able to run 4 monitors?

If someone can piece together a good build for me I'll transfer you $10 over pokerstars. Thanks.

Also, do I need a certain stand for the 4 monitors or do they just stack on top of each other?

i am computer illiterate so i cant answer your tech questions but i can answer the physical appearence of how the moniters "stack." because the tops and bottoms of the 2001fp's are flat, i suppose one could try to "balance" one on top of the other but this would be absurd considering the cost of them. there are frames and bases for holding the 4 monitors. im sure someone will point you in the right direction.

now, if only stars would permit you to transfer me a nickle

Re: Need help building new quad monitor rig

I'd highly suggest a Xentera GT AGP video card, they make one with 4 DVI outputs on one card. It uses dual ATI Radeon 9000 chips (each chip can do 2 monitors), so the drivers are pretty standard and the card works well. The card has a street price of about $600 right now.

As far as monitors, that's a personal choice, I love my Samsung Syncmaster 213Ts. Most LCD monitors have a wall mount option, If you did that you could easily mount 4 of them to the wall.

Without the PC, you're looking a 2 to 3k if you use LCD/TFT monitors.
