\"Scanmarks\"/\"Cheating\" -- WTF??

Not sure where to post this, but since I was playing 2/4 NL on Party at the time, I'll post it here.

The hand is not important, but the guy put me to a big decision for all my chips. I let the clock run down to about two seconds before calling, then won a pretty big pot.

Next thing you know, the guys accuses me of cheating, saying I was looking for "scan marks." Then another couple of guys say, "Yeah, F the cheaters, let's go" and the table empties. I'm like, WTF? I mean, I've played several hundred thousand hands at Party and this is the first thing I've heard of scan marks.

Some sort of urban poker myth?

Were you looking for scan marks?

I've never heard of "scan marks" either, but Googling that + poker turned up this page, advertising a cheat-at-poker e-book. Among the claims are that you can read other players cards online.

My question is this: if you're blatantly advertising a how-to-steal e-book, how can anyone trust that you're not just ripping them off completely? Anyone who orders this is getting what they deserve (I hope).

The 2 donks at my party 2/4 table tonight were talking about these as well, then they started telling others that you can "see" them, and that it has something to do with cheating. Who knows, I'm not too concerned, I've seen dumber things discussed.
