trains from nyc to ac

Anyone know how much much and how long a train ride from NYC to AC is?

You'd have to take a train to Philly and then a train from Philly to AC on NJ transit. It would take longer and cost more than a bus ride.

The fastest means of public transportation from NYC to AC is a bus. Greyhound leaves from the Port Authority every half hour. Tickets are $30, and you get between $17-20 back from your casino destination. The bus ride is 2 hours and 20 minutes. The bus clientele is not the greatest.

Carpool?

the showboat bus gives you a $20 bill as opposed to some of the casinos that want you to play slots with the "cash" they give you...

I am actually putting an ad on craiglsit for people intersted in carpooling to AC - I have a car but hate the ride down there by myself as well as the cost of the gas and tolls if I pay them all myself...

if you are intersted feel free to pm
I go down two to three times a week

When you get a $20 slot ticket, like at Bally's just stick it in any slot machine and then hit the cashout button.

not all of htem are that way

ceasers and sands make you play slots...you can't cash it out as cash

The point is, once you put the voucher in the slot machine, the machine registers the credits, then if you cashout of the machine you get a cashable slot voucher. Just like if you put currency in and then hit cashout.

Sands and Resorts (you can get match play coupons for table games at Resorts if you ask for them at the cage) make you play. The others don't. I take a bus often from Cheesequake.

I have taken the buses from the port authority many times. I just avoid the casinos that make you play the slots.
I really am amazed that no trains go there direct, but thanks for the info.

I was curious to see how long the train ride would take. Amtrak NY to Philidelphia is 1.5 hours, and then NJ transit Philly to AC is 1.5 hours. In bad weather or during rush hours the bus can take 3 hours, so it's not that bad. The only thing is Greyhound is $10 round trip and the train is $60
