Re: Quick question on gametime,playerview

There have been other threads on this topic in teh past (I belive it was called gametime vs. playerview or something liek that) so a search would likely reveal more insight. Both are obviously add-ons to pokertracker. Gametime+ essentially overlays the pokertracker Gametime window stats onto the party window. You have to add tables manually, and it can be a bit of a resource hog with multiple tables. I've found that it didn't like overlapping tables too much, and frequently I would see the stats from a lower table mashing together with the active tables stats. Playerview now supports multiple databases, it's fully customizable as far as layout goes. You can pretty much get all the same information as gametime+. You can also color-code stats based on ranges (like lower VPIP in red, higher VPIP in green, etc). I've used both, and prefer playerview just because it updates itself when I open new windows, and it allows you to view stats on observed tables.

All the above.

PLUS

A big diff is that PV requires the .NET Framework from Microsoft, an GT+ does not.

If you have had experience with .NET that might sway your decision.

I, and several others, have had very bad experience with .NET on other programs, with the .NET Framework bogging down the system to ridiculous levels. Others do not seem to have this problem, I cannot tell you why the difference.

A big difference that people forget about is that GT+ works on all sites supported by PokerTracker, PV only works with Party and its affiliates.

Yeah yeah, Kross is da [censored]..... I'm incredibly impressed with both programs, and thank all 3 of you for providing them for the community. Are there other sites that allow up to date HH updating?

Sure, the following sites support realtime HH updates just like you can do with Party:

- UltimateBet (with my hand history grabber, http://www.pokertracker.com/ubh.html)
- PokerRoom
- CryptoLogic/WagerLogic sites (WIlliam Hill, InterCasino, BetFair, UKBetting, and more)

Re: Quick question on gametime,playerview

Since I'm a computer-moron I didn't even know what this .Net framework thing is....but it told me I needed it so I tried to download it and set up my playerview but I was still doing something wrong because playerview wasn't working (and kept stalling out on me).
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, etc etc.
After a couple of hours of banging my head against my computer I gave up.

Later, I tried gametime+ and literally had it working in less than a minute. It was much easier.
And I do not find it to be a resource hog.

So, for a computer-idiot like me, gametime+ was much easier to implement and this more than makes up for the advantages (customization primarily) that playerview provides.

gametime+ will be working with multiple-databases in a future update.

Since it only takes a few seconds to get gametime+ working you can just check it out on your own....and you might not have probs with playerview either.
They're both free afterall....so check 'em both out and see which you like better.
