average chip stack

If there are x people at the start of an mtt and they all start with 1500 chips. How can i found what the average chip count will be when there are x-1 people and x-2 and so on.
Example.
147 players enter. What will average chip count be when there are 29 people left.

I have been trying to figure this out so I can know how long I am able to sit back and watch when i get up early in mtt. I would greatly appreciate any help.

I know this is not a hard equation, but whenever I try I never match what the tourney lobby says.

Don't nearly all sites give you the average on their leader board or tourney lobby ? as well as the highest and lowest stack.

Yes they do, But i want to know what it is going to be when there are (x-y) players left. X is starting number of players.

Re: average chip stack

1500 x 147 = 220,500 chips in play
29 people left..
220,500 / 29 = 7603.448 average stack

Re: average chip stack

Multiply the starting chips by the number of players.

147 players x 1500 starting chips = 220500 total chips.

220500 / players remaining = avg stack

This does not work with re-buys
