common situation

villain in this hand is a very good player. probably better than me. he might think im runoverable because we played heads up for 20 hands yesterday of which he won 17. it was gross and he was turbo aggressive but i had no cards.

I open QTo from the CO and he 3bets me on the BT. blinds fold and i call

flop is T63r

i check and call

turn is a blank

i check planning to checkraise

i love it....
i think your ahead, i know hes not folding, and your plays +ev a ton of the time, plus his 3 bet hands here are wide in variety

Was this simply an informative post?

I don't see any other options.

Edit: I do this even if the villain is simply a regular agressive fellow, and not necessarily the opponent you described.

Looks pretty reasonable. What is your plan if he 3 bets the turn? How about if he calls and raises a blank river?

TS,

In general, how do you decide between this line and c/raising the flop and continuing?

Why is this line superior to just check-raising the flop?

I check raise the turn when villain is pretty agro, the board isn't too scary, and he is likely to follow through. I also do it with a stronger hand. If my hand is more vulnerable, or I am not too sure he will bet the turn, I check/rase the flop.

Seems totally standard to me. Not that one should always do this, but that this is one of several lines that should be used with some frequency (along with c/ring the flop, donk betting the flop, etc.).

letting him bluff the turn + getting more money in there + metagame bluffing purposes
