Tis the season... to give it up ... your favorite play

I'd like to develop a list of plays or situations posters love to see. What is your favorite situation where you just lick your chops and want to see the cards roll? Please stay away from the obvious, i.e. we all "love" pocket rockets, etc. But if we can come up with a Xmas play "wish list" that expands our own list of good situations, maybe we can bring home more of that Xmas cash.

My current favorite is betting out a flush draw from the blinds. I play live, and with most tables tending to LAP, this lead bet builds the pot, and is hard for others to place me on a hand. It gives me great flexibility on the turn and river to bluff, semi-bluff, and/or check-raise if the flush hits, etc.

What situations do you want Santa to put under your tree?

I had 3 set over sets yesterday with some random buddy list member as the 3rd man in the pot calling capped streets for his gutshot and missing.

I'd like more of that.

I like flopping two pair or a small set against someone with a pair of aces or kings. They think they're invincible but i usually win.

Calling a flop bet in a HU pot with air then taking it down on the turn. That, or check raising the field on the river.

Nothing beats sitting at a table of mostly passives when a maniac drops by.

Oh I guess you need cards also.

Merry Christmas.

If I could consistently get maniacs in the seat immediate to my right, I could quit my day job.

I won a gigantic pot about 2 weeks ago (42.5 BB), capped on the flop, turn, and river from 3 other players, with my quad 6's. The other players showed 9-8 (8's full of 9's), 8-7 (8's full of 6's), and my personal favorite, A4s for the missed nut flush even though the board was double paired.

Flopping a set with a pp on a board with an A or K at a loose table.

If we are specifically just talking plays I also enjoy betting out flush draws, OESD, a combination of either top pair, two pair or any pair from the blinds. Like you said when you hit the flush it makes it tough for them to put you on a hand.

OR if I know a TAG is raising from late position to steal I will check raise on the turn and maybe even cap and lead the river with absolute garbage. I have only done this a few times but it has always worked because I'm a very tight player and the TAG has to put me on a great hand. I would never do this against a fish or mediocre player though.

5-betting the river against Johnny Chan with air!

The one situation that got away from me was at Bellagio...I had a straight flush on the river and checked it down against two players because I thought I only had a straight. Player #1 turned over an ace-high flush. Player #2 had a full house. I'd love to have that situation back.

Also, having AA and flopping quads against a habitual bluffer. This happened to me at my local casino, and I got him good. He kept saying "I got chips, I got chips." Then when I raised him on the river, he folded and said "you've probably got me outkicked." LOL
