Do poker reporters know the rules to poker?
Saw this PLO w/ rebuys update:
[ QUOTE ] Howard had all his chips in on the flop, and one of the other players tried to isolated by reraising Lederer's all-in bet to put the only other player in the hand all-in as well. But he called anyway, and all 3 players flipped the cards up. Seat #3 showed A-9-5-7...Seat #7 showed K-10-Q-J...and Lederer showed the best hand at the time A-A-8-5. The flop was K-5-2...turn 3...river 10. Lederer's hand holds with 2 pair Aces and 5's, and he triples up. [/ QUOTE ] So something is seriously wrong with this report. |
Re: Do poker reporters know the rules to poker?
They were young kids running around trying to get updates in the chaos (with the exception of frankenstein Mike Paulle).

Re: Do poker reporters know the rules to poker?
I'm guessing a typo somewhere. A board pair maybe.

Re: Do poker reporters know the rules to poker?
Mike Paulle is a wahoo. His blog is good for nothing except listing names. He also mentions when the women bust out and makes silly comments to suggest they are attractive.

Re: Do poker reporters know the rules to poker?
Maybe it's because I'm a little tired or that I don't play Omaha at all, but what's the problem?

Re: Do poker reporters know the rules to poker?
Lederer doesn't have the best hand here as it's written, he has one pair of aces. The guy with KTxx has kings up. It's obviously some kind of mistprint/rushed typo.

Re: Do poker reporters know the rules to poker?
Oh, duh, can only use the two Aces. Heh.

Re: Do poker reporters know the rules to poker?
Do you know the rules OF English? Didn't think so!
|
Re: Do poker reporters know the rules to poker?
How do you isolate by making a third player go all-in??
|
Re: Do poker reporters know the rules to poker?
I think he meant to say that the raise was intended to get Howard out of the hand, and isolate the guy already all-in. This didn't work, and Howard called all-in (at least that's what I understood).
