Fire wire and USB 2.0

Is there anything out there that will convert a firewire so that it may be used in a USB 2.0 port?

Not really. You need a PCI card with a firewire port. Newegg has a firewire and USB PCI card for around $40.

If you have a laptop, you can get a PCMCIA card with firewire ports.

There is - http://www.pixela-1.com/capycable.htm , but the cost is more than a PCI Firewire card. If it's for a laptop, or to use on multiple non-Firewire PCs, the decision might be a bit closer.
