Bodog 7.5k final table AA in BB.... play along.. do you call

Down to 5 people I am short, but not bad because I am stealing to stay where I am and not falling behind.

Avg stack 155k
Hero in the BB with 121k
SB chip leader at 300k

Hero dealt 2 black Aces in the BB

Blinds are 4k/8k with 800 ante

SB mini raises to 16k and I value raise to 16k showing I am not affraid of his stack with this hand.

Flop is 2d Qs 8d

SB checks I throw in 14k (value betting, probably a little small)

SB calls

turn is 10d

SB checks I bet 45k

SB reraises me all in

I am sitting at 37k left with a decision to make.

There is a str8 and flush draw out there or he could be big stack bullying.

What do you do?

I raise more pre-flop and bet more on the flop. It makes the hand play MUCH differently.

Given the way you played it, it really omes down to a read. As played, I don't know how you can fold.

This is an easy call for me. Terrible underbet on the flop though, with 68k in the pot only betting 14k? You should be at least betting half the pot here. Also, there is no such thing as a value bet when there are still cards to come.

how is it 36k pot? he min raised to 16k and you reraised (unclear if you min raised for 24k or if you raised to 32k). But their is at a minimum 52k or possibly 68k in the pot (counting antes).

Damn see what a donk i am... was 52k wow i suck LOL

52k pot on the flop and i bet 14k... what a donk... i should have seen there was a str8 and flush draw and pushed.. My read on him is he would have called anyways from how he had been playing all night, but at least make him make the mistake.

A have a notebook I keep notes in and one of the notes is trust your gut. My gut said he hit his f'ing flush then i tried to talk myself out of it and said no he has the Ad and is drawing at the flush with maybe top pair. So I called... then when he flipped over his 6d9d i started swinging like crazy and thinking he was a donkey for calling the flop.... now reading the hand history I know who the real donkey is dont i

PUSH THE FLOP!

There is a flush draw and a gut-shot straight draw on the flop. Make a real bet here, not 14K... Since a pot-sized bet commits you anyway, just push. The pot is big enough that you don't mind taking it on the flop.

The way you played it, you pretty much have to call on the turn, but you're likely beaten.

do you have the "show pot size" option checked (i think that's an option and not standard on bodog)? it shouldn't be a surprise to see that you underbet the pot.

this reads funny. you know it's bad to give accurate information to your opponent, right?

This may be the worst played AA ever. Reraise bigger preflop. Bet bigger on the flop. Call the turn push.

The pot is over 100k I don't know where you're getting these numbers from.

yea i didnt realize how bad i played it until i reread the hand history this morning. I went to bed thinking what a donkey he is.... reread the hand history, went to shave this morning and realized i was looking at the real donkey.

Next time as soon as i see that flop and see the flush and str8 straws i push and take down a smaller pot and be happy with it.

Mistakes are ok as long as we learn from them.
