SportsBook\'s KarlRove bet
 

Hi,

I'm new to sports betting and was intruiged by SportsBook's offer concerning the Karl Rove/Valery Plame affair.

Here is one such news article dated October 19th:

As it turns out, I didn't feel like he would resign even if indicted. So I put $100 at 3-2 which says "No" to whether he would resign or be dismissed before November 15h. And the actual text of the bet says:

Future Wager 10/24/05 12:30 ET
100.00/150.00 Result: Pending
Karl Rove - Will he be Dismissed / Resign from White House
No 11/15/05 (20:00 ET)
3-2

So it's way past November 15th and I didn't get paid!

What kind of sleazy operation is sportsbook running? I asked and they said the November 15th doesn't mean anything. That's complete BS! Any lawyers want to take on a class-action lawsuit?

It says "11/15/05" I suppose it depends on which calendar system you are using. LOL

11/15/05 might just be the last day they take bets on that wager.

No, they stopped taking wagers well before 11/15/05. In fact I know the bet was no longer offered before October 28th, the date of Fitzgerald's press conference. That's when Fitzgerald indicted Libby, but not Rove.

I distinctly remember seeing "11/15/05" on the wager offer and thinking, "Ok, it will be settled soon, I won't have to wait long" Now they're telling me to wait and will continue to do so probably until Inaguration day 2005, when they'll tell me "See he resigned. You lose." Slimeballs.

These guys are begging for a lawsuit.

Sounds like you're getting ripped off. I'd tell www.sportsbookreview.com and get them to start lobbying for you. Not sure what else to tell you.

It says right there:

it's pending until the 24th, at which point you'll get paid.

10/24/05 was a month ago... its almost the 24th of November... (i.e. 11/24)
