New forum for the \"unmentionable\" is open

Ok, thank you to the guys who got the new forum for the R word open. Time to take the discussions over there without the fear of a banning of thread locking! WOOT, let the spam begin!

Sticky should be fixed to direct people there. I think they're going to need a stronger worded anti-spam policy though to prevent that forum from degenerating into a mass of spam.

Over/under on the amount of (unmentionable) posts we still get over here?

They should probably set up a newbie FAQ with the basic premises (sp?). Good development overall though, even it's chaos.

There is a newbie faq of sorts there. Basically telling newbies to post questions, which I think is not the way to go. You're going to get the same 10 questions asked 10 times a day for the next 10 days of the next 10 months.

Yeah, I agree. I think something along the lines of defining what exactly it is and why it exists could be worth the writeup.

I hope it's not too spammy, but it seems like an idea worth trying.

We will probably do something like that, but for now we want to see the types of questions and where the forum is heading; especially before we set a bunch of "rules".
