Cash wads at the Foxwoods NL.

First time playing the 5/5 NL at Foxwoods (when the min buyin was $200). I noticed how all the regulars seem to have a knot of cash behind their large chip stacks. Made me feel uncomfortable with just my $500 buy-in. It seem more like a status thing than for actual usage since many players also had a significant amount of chips to wager.

It would be kinda of funny if someone wrapped a lot of $1 with a $100 bill, making it seem like they had a real wad. He pushes all-in and it turns out to be something like $199 wagered.

I assure u its not "just a status thing" i play regularly in that game, with about $20k on the table, and very very rarely am i not covered. Playing in that game means playing monster pots, which is wat nl is alll about.
Sittin with a shortstack is also very profitable, quite easy for u to double up.

But can you double it and then triple it?

I assume this game has no max buy-in? Does Foxwoods spread 5-10 NL?

1/2NL with 100 max, 2/4 with 300? max, and 5/5 with no max. The minimum in the 5/5 used to be 200, but I think it went to 500 when they introduced the 2/4 recently.

Back when I played in that game regularly, a bunch of the guys who sat really deep should not have been sitting as deep as they were.

money plays in that game? the wad trick is the reason why money should not play.

as for players sitting deep, youre right. there are tremendous amounts of fish that sit deep who think they are far better than they really are. they really suck actually.

"How deep are you?"

Problem solved. Actually, I believe only $100 bills should play (ala Vegas) and only $100 bills should be allowed on the table in NL games.

The CTR is the reason why it does.

Amen to that; made the games profitable though. Medium stack in that game was really hard to play.
