25 NL 6max help / coaching / advice

Hi, I've logged almost 30k hands now at NL25 6max, and I am a winning player (2.55bb/100) but just barely. I was wondering if an experienced poster here on this forum could take the time to look at some of my hands or comment on my stats and/or coach & give me advice. Recently I have gone on roughly a 6-7 buyin downswing, and I am frustrated with myself, because I feel like this is an easy game that I should be crushing. My stats look like this:
hands: 27,659 VP$IP: 24.45 PTBB/100: 2.55 WTSD: 22.79 W$ASD: 47.93 PFR: 10.00. Please send me a PM if you are interested in helping out.

you should just go ahead and post hands here that you have questions about - people will be more than willing to give advice and you'll have many different opinions to look at.

This actually looks ok to me. 2.55/100 PT BB would be $5.1/100 * 30K hands = $1530. That's 30.6 buy-ins at the next level, NL 50. So I'd say move up, keep playing like you're playing. That's a pretty respectable win rate. I suppose your W$ASD % being a little under 50% could use some improvement. So maybe you can focus on figuring out when you're behind a little sooner and more accurately, but otherwise I'd say you should move up and play another 30K hands.

As for being on a 6-7 buy-in downswing, it happens. You're still up over 60 buy-ins at this level. I think you're past ready to go to $50 NL.

I've heard alot of arguments against moving from 25 to 50, especially in or around a downswing. Some of these tables will drop 15% or more in saw flop percentage.

Not trying to be a nit, but your math is off...2.55 PTBB/100 @ NL25 is $1.28/100 (2.55 x $0.50 or 5.1 x $0.25 depending on how you want to look at the numbers). He should probably try to be hitting 5PTBB/100 before he moves up, especially at these lower levels (just my opinion, but I think he'd get crushed moving up before then).

I agree. 2.5BB/100 at limit is an awesome win rate. 2.5BB/100 at NL is ....uh....not very good, especially for 25NL. A win rate this low means he has some major holes in his game. It's better to plug them now while it's relatively cheap, than to move up in limits and get run over. (Speaking from personal experience here )

And just for the record, I'm new to NL as well and working on my game just like you. I echo what the others have said about posting hands here in the forum to get some feedback, it'll help you find those leaks and get yourself ready for NL50.

Ditto. I read a lot of hands here and think "oh, man, I know what to do in that situation .. how can he not know?! I'm awesome!!!" Then I post a hand or two and find out 1) I'm making fundamental mistakes and not realizing it 2) people here explain things very well.

I'm in the middle of a ridiculously hot run of cards, but I'm thinking of moving down from NL50 to NL25 so that I can work more on my game and not go busto when the rush ends.
