PRINTING MONEY : PartyPoker\'s Profits...

I was thinking the other day about how much cash these poker sites must be raking in.... I was wondering HOW MUCH exactly.

Figured I'd do some rough analysis....

ASSUMPTIONS:
• You can get 40 hands per hour in without too much effort...it's low but we'll use it.
• Low Limit Tables can pull ~$100/hr in rake... Micros around $50/hr
• NL tables are capped so we'll assume $100/hr there as well.

Now... there are typically around 30k people playing there at any given time...that's about 3000 active tables (under assumption...but simplified for round number sake).

Figuring a mix of around 20% micro limit and 80% mid/upper/no limit, that puts the table split at 2400 tables earning $100/hr and 600 tables earning $50/hr

Overall by these calculations, Partypoker is raking around:
• $250,000 per HOUR, or
• $5 MILLION per day or
• $2 BILLION per year

I might have made some false assumptions here in which case, please correct me.... however, these numbers have to at least be CLOSE to accurate...no?

They make a crapload for sure. I wonder why they see the need to have the highest rakes at 5.00 and 12.00 pots?

You forgot to subtract 200 lots of $0.06 per hour to pay their support team.

Because they can?

You know that their goal is to make as much money as possible, right?

No way they are earning that much, but the owners and higher positions probally sleep on a bed of money.

How much do they pay in rake back to affiliates?

Also, aren't play money tables included in the total player count that they advertise?

If they include sng's and multis in their player/table counts then yes your figures are probably off.

Regardless, they're making some serious jack.

Had a buddy playing 100NL there the other night and he saw through pokertracker that he had paid $143 in rake in a little over 1 1/2 hours.I watched him and he was playing tight.

Also they have the bad beat tables going for them. The fact that they keep 20% from that has to add up quickly as well.

According to eGamingReview PP was expecting a $500 million profit in 2004 in december. Their only real expense got to be commercials.

I think the 60,000 figure includes play money tables. I'm not sure how many people are playing play-money vs. resl money. Nonetheless. I'm sure Party's rake income is huge. Keep in mind that they do have some expenses. They have to pay for their servers and the people who run them, as well as software development and their [sarcasm]wonderful[/sercasm] customer support staff out of that rake. I'm sure they are making a huge profit, though.
