Freeport LI Casino boat report

Went on the Majesty Casino boat out of Freeport NY on Friday night. The cost is $20 per person and includes a small buffet , coffee, tea and soft drinks. There is a charge for alcohol in the poker room, but the prices are reasonable.

They had 2 poker tables going, out of five. No Limit Holdem 1/2, with $50 Min and $300 Max buyin, and a 3/6 Limit game.

I played the 3/6 and found myself playing with 5 players who never played before, and a couple of LAGs. The dealer was fantastic, talking spectators into filling vacant seats and telling them he would help them learn the game. His patience was tremendous, but he also made sure the game moved along quickly.

I was drooling because these players were calling to the river with nothing. Unfortunately I just couldn't get any decent starting hands (even after greatly lowering my standards). Eventually I pulled in a monster pot (160+) when I paired my Ace with King kicker. I won a few smaller pots and finished up 120 for the night. If I had gotten a normal share of starting hands I would have made a lot more.

I didn't play the No limit game but it was like the Wild West. Pots frequently over $900, with people calling all-in bets with Queen three offsuit. The 3/6 dealer told me I should sit in that game and make a fortune, but I've never played No Limit, so I passed.

I debated writing this report, keeping the secret to myself, but the boat needs more players to make this work. They'll be having a tournament sometime in August, with a top prize around 10k.

The dealer told me that Monday nights they have a bunch of models that come on the boat as some kind of promotion. These girls wear next to nothing, play poker, and get hammered. I might have to try it out on Monday.

If you go, make sure you treat your dealer well, they work for tips only. From the small sample that I saw, these are very professional dealers...a hundred times better than the ones at Foxwoods.

The boat sails twice daily, seven days a week. And no, I'm not affiliated with them in any way.

Sounds good, thanks for the report! I've been trying to find the time to get out there but haven't done it as of yet. Maybe I'll give it a shot Monday night.
