Sir, I can see your cards.

so i am playing in a live game at canterbury. I am in the 9 seat (immediate right of dealer). i am the SB, and look left to see what action is developing. when i do so, BB's cards flash and I see what looks to be the 6-8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]'s. i muck my hand and after the hand tell him that his cards flash when he looks at them. (i always do this. most people appreciate it. IMO it is +EV on the karma scale.) he either doesn't hear me or ignores me. i tell him again, and in a less that thankful tone he says, "what did i have?". i tell him and he says nothing. it is difficult to gague a reaction as he has big dorky sunglasses on, and also the dealer is between he and i. i have always thought he was a surly old dude, but i now give him "dick" status and make a point to look at his cards whenever i can. am i naughty?

It doesn't sound like you were minding your business. You arent naughty, you are nosey. Just don't look and don't say anything. You were the only person who could see anyway.

i look left to see the action. i didn't initially look thinking "Aha!!! I can see his cards." they flashed and caught my eye. i did not set out to look at his cards, but once he was a dick, i had no quams about it whatsoever.

it is his responsibility to protect his cards. you kindly told him of his leak and he chose to be rude. take his $$$$$ and buy a cooler pair of sunglasses.

I always ASS U ME

And I meant you werent minding your bidness by telling him that you could see them. Unless someone is playing their first b&m session, they probobly don't want to be told about that.

Doing -EV things for karma is -EV.

Re: Sir, I can see your cards.

Protecting your cards is part of the game just like not calling raises with garbage cards is part of the game. If someone constantly calls my raises with 72 it's a flaw in their game and they're going to lose money because of it. If they make their cards available for me to see every hand it's another flaw in their game and that's gonna cost them money as well.

That being said, you were really nice to point the weakness out to him. Based on his response, he can go [censored] himself.

I'm on the side of letting someone know if they're flashing. It's one of the few things I'll do to help someone whose primary (I think) intent is to take my money. If they don't appreciate it, I don't really care. I just go back to trying to take their money.

No matter how much I've played B&M, if I'm doing something that allows someone to see my cards, I would like to know. Seems to me, that this is information you don't want to be giving out. I don't know, maybe you like other people knowing what you have. I err on the side of trying my best to keep it to myself, and would very appreciate anyone who alerted me to otherwise.

You're fine.

If I see someone flashing their cards, I'll tell them -- once. After that, it's fair game.
