Short trip reposrt 2/4 Taj 12/3/04

About a 20 min wait @ 6:00 PM for 2/4 Hold Em. Had some good starting hands that never filled in. Was down for most of the night. At first it was amusing watching people call with 9,7o and fill in their str8t & win, but after a while it started wearing thin.

One guy sat down wearing shades and a Vikings hat cashing in twenties every third hand. Eventually I caught some cards and finished up 12.5BB.

No use trying to do anything other than bet while getting good odds if the hand called for it.

At one point I folded every garbage hand for over an hour. When I finally got a pair and opened in MP I expected everyone to fold. The usual 4-5 called.

Left around 11:30, surprised it never got really crowded. Is this the norm for crowds and type of game this time of year, or was this because it was the weekend after a holiday?

Try doing it for three or four hours. Not fun. Especially at the Taj, where after those 4 hours, your coffee still will not have arrived.

You're dead on about the service. Does it get more crowded on Sat & Sun? For 2/4 or 3/6 would I be better off at the Borg?

No, you wouldn't. At the Borg, the wait for a table on Friday night is 4 hours, give or take. And if you're an Omaholic, like me, you never sit down due to all of the Hold 'Em folks, unless you also play stud
