The Squid and the Whale

Preview seen here

I thought it looked pretty good. Jeff Daniels looks excellent for the role and Anna Paquin is growing up and looking pretty hot.

Unfortunately it was released in Oct and I never heard anything about it (seems to happen to a lot of my favorite previews on apple). Anyone catch this?

yeah, this time they try and save a pod of whales against a renegade squid, but it ends in tragedy when the daughter (Paquin) drowns after trying to talk some sense into the squid.

I saw it and enjoyed it - but it did not live up to the hype - Critics Love This Squid and Whale Movie

Go in with lower expectations than I did - it's pretty well-written and got some great moments. Paquin is totally hot. The actoring in this movie is very good IMO (Jeff Daniels and the oldest son in particular).

I have been telling people that it's definitely worth net flix'ing when it's available there - not so amazing that you have to rush out to a theater to watch it / pay inflated theater prices for it.
