JJ with two-overcard board

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG calls, Hero raises, 8 folds, UTG calls.

Flop: (5.50 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, UTG raises, Hero calls.

Flop call was easy, right?

Turn: (4.75 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG bets, Hero calls.

Great, now I've picked up a gutshot. 6 outs, right about 6.5:1 to hit, with implied odds, I've just got enough to call.

River: (6.75 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG bets, Hero calls.

Fold or call?

Final Pot: 8.75 BB

Re: JJ with two-overcard board

I would lead out on the flop like you did, but once you get raised you've got to dump your hand. He's telling you he's got, at the very least, an Ace in his hand. You're drawing to the two remaining jacks/runner-runner straight. Give it up.

I also think your call on the turn is marginal. Your jacks are dirty if he's got AK. I don't think you've got 6 outs here, and I don't think 6 outs dictates an autocall, either.

Since, by your own admission you're drawing to six outs, I can't imagine why you'd be calling the river when you do not hit one of them.

maybe im weak tight.. but unless you have any reads on UTG for getting out of line, I think im folding to his flop raise. i just dont like having only two outs in a tiny pot like this.

No, you picked up a double-gutshot on the turn. That's 8 outs for the straights, and probably 2 more if you spike a jack.

nice hand.

Duh, don't make the same mistake he did. Hero has a double gutshot on the turn, not 6 outs.

I am embarassed I didn't catch that.

I still fold on the flop, and on the river, but the turn call is 100% correct.

Flop call is very marginal, I agree. Still, it's probably better not to get in the habit of folding to single small bets on the flop with a raised pot.

I understand you can't frequently fold to a small bet in raised pots. In this instance, though, with no flush or straight draws I think I'm pretty far behind in this hand with very little room to improve.

I'm embarassed I didn't pick up the double gutshot, but more so that I called the river bet. I think you project a weak tight image folding to a small bet on the flop in a raised pot.

Villian shows down AsQc.
