1st gulf war - troop count?

Does anybody recall how many U.S. troops were deployed in the first gulf war 12 years ago? How many troops from other nations?

I seem to recall the numbers cited back then as much greater than what I'm hearing now (something like 200k so far). I would assume we'd use more this time.

Thanks

I believe the count was 250,000 for Desert Storm.

on the other hand the iraqi army, after 10+ years of sanctions, cant be anything but a shadow of its former might.

What former might? They were unable to generate positive results in a single [b]engagement[/], much less a battle. They're poorly trained, poorly armed, and faced with the most powerful army in history. Even the "elite" Republican Guard is a joke compared even to our run-of-the-mill infantry divisions.

i believe in '90 they had 6th largest army in the world. (on paper anyway u know)

and all their stuff worked whereas now after sanctions maybe none of their armour works i dont know.

my point is they can put up signifiantly less resistance than last time.
