Pontoon question

I understand a tie goes to the dealer

but

If you get AJ, and they get AQ i thought there was something in the rules that protected you. Am i wrong?

I can't figure out how Pontoon has a lower house edge than BJ, pontoon is the devil.

It's a lower HA, but a lot higher variance.

You lose in this case.

Pontoon is god. Positive variance has slapped me so hard in the face while playing this game. It's not even funny.

Nothing is better than betting $25 on a hand, getting 2 aces, splitting them and getting one A Q and one A 2, then hitting a 5 card trick (which you rightly doubled) for a total payout of $150 + your $75 back.

It's only better when you did it in pounds.

I love this game.

And by alot we really mean alot. Like tons and tons more. But like TheMetetron I've been slapped silly by the positive version of that lately. Actually I don't think I've ever cashed out near the bonus amount, it's either been multiplied or evaporated. So far mostly the former though.

Only problem is that no-one seems to offer multihand Pontoon, while they do offer multihand blackjack. So if you have limited time for whoring (and who doesn't!) BJ might still earn you a higher hourly rate.

I have been on this side of the variance as well.

Re: Pontoon question

Somehow pontoon always makes me mad, even when I'm winning. I just did one of the crypto monthlies, and quickly quadrupled my money. Then as I ground out the rest of the WR, I got the most viscious beats. In those 150 hands, I lost every time I had 20. I ended with a $50 gain on top of the bonus, which obviously is better than expected, but I just felt irritated. I'm not surprised this game is less popular than blackjack.

i know variance is a bitch, but just something about online casinos i don't trust. i agree with your hatred for pontoon...i hate anything that even sounds like it. I was watching the 1986 classic Platoon the other day and chucked my shoe at the screen in pure hatred.
